How many ski resorts are there in Andorra?
🏔️ Andorra has two major ski areas – Grandvalira and Pal, Arinsal – each made up of different resorts and sectors. Between them, they offer 310km+ of piste, some of the best lift infrastructure in Europe, and enough variety to keep everyone from first-timers to freeride fanatics happy.
⛷️ Grandvalira – 210km+ of piste
Grandvalira is Andorra’s biggest ski area (and one of the largest in the Pyrenees), linking six resort sectors across a vast, high-altitude domain.
It includes:
- Pas de la Casa – high and party-central
- Soldeu – stylish and family-friendly with top-notch ski schools
- El Tarter – freestyle central and home to pro-level snowparks
- Canillo – quiet, scenic,
- Encamp and Grau Roig – wild backcountry and off-piste access
🏞️ Pal, Arinsal – 63km+ of piste
La Massana (Pal) and Arinsal are part of the Pal, Arinsal ski area (often just called Pal, Arinsal now). It’s known for its laid-back atmosphere, forested runs, and panoramic views.
- Arinsal – compact, sociable, and ideal for learners and intermediates
- La Massana – the town base with direct gondola access into Pal – wider terrain and tree-lined cruising
🎿 What about Ordino ArcalĂs?
Ah yes, the wildcard. While not linked by lift, Ordino ArcalĂs is also part of the Grandvalira Resorts group (you can ski it with the same pass). It's a freeride paradise with 30km of piste and some of the most reliable snow in Andorra.

"We loved being able to ski Soldeu one day, hit the snowpark in El Tarter the next, and then hop over to Arcalis for chilled tree runs before lunch. Unreal variety." – Joe M., January 2024
